They have great food and a friendly atmosphere.

They only open on Saturdays and Sundays October through April from noon to 6pm. The bar is in Parker, AZ down a 3-mile bumpy dirt road and is powered completely by solar and generators. Take some time to make the drive to the Desert Bar with friends. Everyone had a great time looking through the telescopes. They take their telescopes everywhere they go and teach people about the sun, moon, stars, and planets.

One day we had an opportunity to meet up with GeoAstroRV. At La Posa South LTVA, be sure to take some time to find the USA map made out of rocks. There are tons of RVs and RV related vendors to check out. Or if you’re around when the RV show is going on, you can take the day to go to the event. If you’re searching for an RV, they’ve got plenty of RV dealerships to check out. As I said above, Quartzsite is a small town with little to do. Verizon was overloaded and we were unable to get enough signal to work. We found that AT&T was the only cell signal we could get consistently, though it fluctuated depending upon the time of day. If you need cell signal to work during the day, don’t count on being able to get much while the RV show is in town. They also do a nice job of keeping large dumpsters in the area for trash. There are no electric, water, or sewer hookups, but there are dump stations and several freshwater filling areas. Most of the other RVers around us were nice and friendly, but as you can imagine there were those few who didn’t like the fact that children were hanging around the area. We set up in a large circle with about 30 other families. Many of them use rocks to mark off their designated campsite. However, some people who camp here regularly can be pretty territorial. But typically you can purchase a 2 week pass for $40.Ĭampsites are pretty much unlimited and a free-for-all.
BOONDOCKING IN OHIO FREE
Quartzsite Boondocking: Fees and Campsitesīoondocking during our stay was free due to the government shutdown. We actually stayed at the La Posa South Long Term Visitors Area on BLM land in a designated area for the Fulltime Families meetup. Large grocery stores are non-existent and you have to travel the 20 miles to California to get to a major grocery chain. It’s only about 20 miles from California. Quartzsite is a small town located on the far western side of Arizona on I-10. So off we went! Quartzsite Boondocking: Location Photo courtesy of Doug Boudreaux They actually tried to persuade us to stay there the whole week instead of going to Quartzsite, but we still had other friends we wanted to see. If you read our post about camping at Saddle Mountain, you know that some of our friends persuaded us to make a stop there for a few days before going to Quartzsite. We have thoroughly enjoyed our membership and have found a community of people we can meet up with in all areas of the U.S. This is a membership group that caters to RVing families. If you’ve followed our blog for any amount of time, you know that we are members of Fulltime Families.
